BAD AND BUREAUCRATIC STATE EDUCATION SYSTEM

December 14, 2012

To the Head Teacher of my son’s school.

from a parent exasperated with the appalling quality of State education  in the UK.

Dear Head Teacher,

With regard to the detention my son received for writing a ’cheeky’ comment when the IT ‘technician ’ logged him off the internet yesterday.

I spoke further at length to my son about this incident and I am unhappy about the issue as follows.

I understand that he is being punished for being cheeky and I have absolutely no argument with that, but I am unhappy about him being logged off the internet because it appears to have been ill considered, inappropriate and, perhaps, downright silly & bureaucratic if his explanations are correct – and they seem to be.

My son tells me that in the IT lesson he was required by the IT teacher to produce a powerpoint presentation, to include illustrations. This involved legitimately accessing the internet to acquire relevant images to illustrate the presentation.

He wrote the two words in the Google search box  ‘Troll Comic’ to specifically access an image he had previously seen which he wished to use for this presentation, the subject of which was racism. I questioned him closely about this and he showed me this image when I googled it and it is clearly exactly the right image that would be appropriate in my son’s mind to illustrate the presentation as he  explained to me. He told me it was a suitable cartoon image which clearly appeared to be a ‘black’ person and my son intended obtaining a similar type of image but illustrating  a ‘white caucasian’.

It was therefore quite wrong for my son to have been arbitrarily logged off the internet and the ‘technician’ should have had the common sense to enquire of him why he appeared to be just googling comics to apparently – in the mind of the technician – read them in a lesson which would have then constituted an inappropriate use of the internet. But the technician failed to do their job properly in this respect.

It is therefore quite understandable why my son thought this was stupid and was consequentially irritated. This triggered my son’s response of ‘cheekiness’ in writing a silly comment  – ‘stop watching me you pervert’ – as his natural response.

I have pointed out to him that he should have written a non-cheeky, more intelligent reply and perhaps bothered to explain why he had googled that search term. But he didn’t because children are immature and behave accordingly. He now agrees with me he was wrong  and that it was immature and he should have written a more mature comment which would have resolved the issue more intelligently.

My son also told me he thought it was always pointless trying to defend himself against ‘wrong’ disciplinary accusations from the school and he never did this because it had always been his experience that it just got him into even more trouble in the end – even if he had been blameless in the first place.

This is something he has often repeated over many years and different schools and I know of some past incidents whereby my son has been absolutely blameless about something, but ‘has accepted the rap’ rather than try and defend himself. I think this is wrong and demonstrates an inadequacy of disciplinary procedures and it was not the generally the  experience I remember as a child.

This demonstrates the law of unintended consequences which is probably the single most defining evil of bureaucracy and the stupidity of the bureaucratic mind.

When my son explained how the school has a system of ‘policing’ the internet by means of having a full time ‘technician’ sitting hunched up over a computer all day randomly monitoring any IT lessons or other computer access by pupils, I was, frankly, astonished at the waste of money this represents and the nightmare overtones of Orwellian surveillance and thinking and apparent need to battle with the pupils perceived remorseless disobedience in inappropriately accessing the internet.

It seemed to me inconceivable that the average private school would waste the cost of a full time salary in this manner, or that it would accept that pupils were so uncontrollable that this was the only suitable option.

I just found it offensive to see what I perceive as the sort of State type control freak bureaucracy being used to deal with an issue, as opposed to the more sane solutions used by the more sensible world of the non-governmental, non-State world which tends to do things more sensibly and effectively.

I would make the point that simply making efforts to physically prevent pupils from accessing the internet inappropriately is probably utterly pointless because while you can do this in  one  environment such as either school or home, this will merely encourage pupils to be even more determined to inappropriately access it elsewhere, such as friends houses, mobile devices etc.

It is quite obviously physically impossible to completely prevent pupils inappropriately accessing the internet for this reason and therefore it is simply pointlessly bureaucratic and actually more harmful in the longer term to waste time and money to effectively actually encourage pupils to do the very thing you don’t want them to do in the first place.

Like drugs, it can’t be stopped in this blunderbuss, mindlessly coercive & bureaucratic kind of way; only by properly educating people can appropriate behaviour be achieved.

The only way to prevent any form of ‘crime’ or inappropriate behaviour is to train  people’s minds to be moral and law abiding etc and not to seek to achieve this effect by force, fear or the violent and repressive coercion of authority, because this will almost certainly achieve exactly the opposite effect.

It has always been the responsibility of the teacher taking a class to ensure any pupil is not doing anything ‘inappropriate’ and to employ a third party ‘policeman’ sounds horribly Orwellian and 1984’ish – with these unintended consequences I mention which have been wasting money on a salary, wasting your time, the time of the class teacher, my time, and alienating the pupil and the parent, and generally leaving a bad taste in everybody’s mouth. All the typical consequences of bad management and bureaucracy.

Which is why I am writing this.

Yours Sincerely,

From a  parent exasperated by the futile and bad management of State schools providing a lousy standard of education to UK children by the mindless pursuit of bureaucracy instead of getting on with the real business of genuinely trying to provide a decent education.

The State education system is idiotic, bad and utterly sub-standard in just about every respect and, like many parents I am completely appalled at it.

DECORATING CUP CAKES IS USEFUL JOB HUNTING SKILL TAUGHT BY INSANE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT DEPARTMENT

October 30, 2011

Watching a BBC TV programme – ‘The Future State of Welfare’ about Social Security and unemployment benefits being cut last week, I heard ex-newscaster John Humphrys interviewing the organiser of a Government ‘back to work’ training scheme for unemployed people designed to equip them with job skills.

This organiser breathlessly gabbling meaningless nonsense about how useful and successful this ‘job training’ was to the hopeless unemployed who turned up in sheer desperation it might somehow magically conjure a job out of thin air earnestly told John Humphrys that part of the training these unemployed people received was ‘decorating cup cakes’.( About from minute 28 of the programme. Not any more ! I’ve just discovered the BBC have pulled the programme. It is no longer available to view. Perhaps it was embarrassing ?)

It was a useful skill, the organiser said because it taught ‘self confidence’ to the unemployed.

“But these are grown up men and women….. are you sure you are not treating them like children” replied John Humphrys, looking poleaxed with sheer wide eyed amazement, clearly scarcely able to believe his ears.

So, all you two and a half million bone idle unemployed layabouts , go out to your nearest Asda supermarket, buy some repulsive and inedible garishly pink iced ready-made cup cakes and jolly well learn to decorate them just as quick as you can.

Then the magic cup cake fairy will wave her magic wand and suddenly there will be loads and loads of really well paid jobs for every idle layabout currently without a job.

All the jobs will be just decorating horrible iced cup cakes all day, but that doesn’t matter because it’s a job innit ? And the good old Government which creates all the millions of other phantom jobs like this will score even more Brownie points with the irretrievably stupid electorate.

Oh, and meanwhile all benefit payments can become slashed by the Government so no unemployed people can have enough money to even survive in abject poverty in order to force them all to go out and gainfully decorate cup cakes.

That way Bankers will become richer and decent people even poorer, but who cares ? Not the people running the country and certainly not the wickedly dishonest bankers who destroyed so many jobs with their uncontrollable. dishonesty, greed and corruption.

BANKERS RUTHLESS DESTRUCTION OF ECONOMIES TO FEED OWN GREED

August 19, 2011

All these economic & political problems have been created by banks miss-behaving and miss-managing. The problems are entirely artificial and unwanted and are purely the product of banker’s greed as they seek to divert wealth from the people who actually create it, to themselves.

In the real World where there are no bankers controlling every move everyone makes, there are literally unlimited jobs waiting to be done as humankind would wish to to advance civilisation and eradicate poverty, deprivation and mediaeval ways of life which are a disgusting product of politicians’ venal stupidity and self interest.

Bankers stop people working. Bankers destroy jobs. Bankers destroy wealth and wealth creation. Bankers destroy whole economies and damage people’s lives. Bankers are ruthless, violent, merciless, unthinking and greedily inconsiderate as all they are concerned about is their own profit. Banks do not care about destroying people’s lives; they do it all the time.

Wealth is what is created by people working away at something that needs doing. Workers create assets as they build cities and invent new and useful things to manufacture to improve modern life. Different types of workers like medical workers use skills to beaver away at looking after people while other workers beaver away at a million and one useful tasks that create all the goods and services needed to advance human civilisation. This is the real creation of wealth.

But banks interfere with all those good intentions; banks stifle and choke it with their iron grip of greed and control.

Real wealth is not “money’. Money is just a convenient invention needed to enable trade between people and avoid bartering assets between each other. Instead we use ‘money’ to measure assets and wealth and just barter money between ourselves instead.

But banks have grabbed control of all money; grabbed control of it from the governments who originated it, and have debased and destroyed it by how they have used and manipulated it.

Banks have vastly increased how much they charge the rest of us for using money in Modern Times as they learnt they could exert almost a complete stranglehold on all money by developing new banking tricks designed to grasp almost total control of all money away from everyone else – governments included.

Computers and subsequent electronic based banking processes were a godsend to feed the greed of bankers. The rest of the non-banking population was bemused by the onslaught of banking and financial market gobbledegook nonsense language designed to confuse and discombobulate everyone else not part of the magic circle of financiers.

Interest rates charged by banks have soared to ludicrously usurious levels based on pure fantasy. Banks have also invented imaginatively fictitious reasons for other charges everyone is forced to pay just to use their own money; charges which often are no more than pure fraud. But the banks get away with it. Banks have even attempted to charge people for taking their own money out of the bank to spend .

They have effectively taken away nearly all money from individuals, businesses or governments in order to then dole it out back to to everyone else, but only with onerous terms and conditions attached to it to give banks control over it and make everyone using the bank’s money the effective slaves of the banks

This enables banks to milk as much profit as they can get away with and squeeze out of the exhausted financial slaves they now control.

Because the banks have wormed their way into virtually all financial activities anyone, individuals, businesses or Governments ever engage in, the banks dictate to and control everyone through their control of the money supply, over which they have an iron grip.

They do so with only one objective in mind – making as much profit for themselves as they can possibly do so, and protecting themselves as much as possible by seeking as much domination and control of their ‘customers’ as they can get away with.

In order to make ever increasing amounts of money for themselves, the banks have needed to lend more and more because this is their principal way of making almost unlimited amounts of money to line their own pockets with. Hence the obscene banker’s bonuses stretching into the millions of pounds paid to bank staff who have skills no more remarkable or worth huge rewards than the skills of all the rest of the averagely well educated workforce.

But in their blind stampede to earn obscene profits and grow so large they now control the entire Global economy, the banks have connived to persuade and brainwash everyone into believing that borrowing ever increasing amounts of money from the banks under more and more onerous conditions is a good idea.

It isn’t a good idea at all ! Because all the borrowers are stifled and choked by the control the banks have over everything they do. Banks take away everything from their borrowers and turn them into milch cows for profit forever condemned to perpetual servitude to the banks greed.

The increasing unemployment is entirely due to the activities of the banks preventing people who want to work from doing so. The whole Global economic crisis is caused entirely by the banks – no one else.

Until someone takes away from the banks their selfish and destructive control of the money supply and puts it back into the hands of each and every individual worker who needs to use it in order to create work and therefore real, lasting actual wealth, then this economic crisis will only get worse and more and more jobs will be lost as unemployment skyrockets.

Money as debt doesn’t work because the banks own and control all the debt which they then mismanage spectacularly in pursuit of greed.

It is essential that control of the money supply is completely removed from the banks in order to rescue the World from the economic manipulation and collapse which the banks have inflicted on it !

Death to money as debt (controlled by the banks ).

Long live real money owned by the people (controlled by the people who actually use it and create real wealth) !

UNDERSTANDING THE REASON FOR OUR ECONOMIC MELTDOWN – AND IT WILL GET WORSE !

August 8, 2011

THE SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF HOW THE WORLD WIDE CREDIT CRISIS EXISTS AND WHAT CAUSED IT

Understanding the reasons for the Worldwide economic meltdown are not easy. This is only because the banking world wrap even the simplest of ideas in gobbledegook language no one else outside the financial industry usually understands.

That is because they don’t want anyone else to understand it, otherwise finance would lose it’s mystique and bankers would lose their sinister hold over everyone else. So, all we have to do is unwrap all this gobbledegook and use plain language instead.

let’s get straight to the point. Amongst all that pompous financial verbiage wittered by all those self important bankers is this simple truth.

If nobody had ever borrowed a penny from anyone else, and everyone had always paid for everything they had purchased only with money already in their possession, nobody anywhere would owe any money to anyone else at all.

If that was the case, and it is only an imaginary idea just to illustrate exactly where this awful financial armageddon came from which is destroying the World economy right now, then there would be absolutely no credit crisis and no financial meltdown. It would simply be impossible ! Everybody would be in complete control of their finances !

There would be no loss of jobs and no increase in poverty and no meaningful inflation either. No governments would be going bust or falling apart at the seams in their desperate attempts to be able to pay all their debts.

Everyone – governments, businesses and individuals would be in complete control of their financial lives because they would have no debts to pay. Therefore no one else would have any control over anyone else and be able to interfere in their lives and even destroy them because they owed money to the interferer.

Debt makes the person borrowing the money beholden to the lender. The borrower immediately loses control of their own lives when they borrow money.

A government, individual, business or bank which depends for survival by always being able to borrow money from someone else is not only permanently in the control of whoever lends them money, but is always a hairsbreadth away from complete annihilation if nobody is willing to lend them money anymore.

And that is exactly what has happened. The banks have gradually engineered a vice like grip over every financial transaction. They have also successfully brainwashed most of humanity into believing that borrowing nearly all the money needed for trading with each other is the proper way to conduct financial affairs whether you are a business, government or individual.

Of course it is the banks that lend the money, which is why they want everyone to believe that borrowing money for everything is the right way to do things. It is also a curious fact that people lending others money think they have a right to tell the borrower what to do and what not to do, generally boss them about and tell them how to conduct their lives – particularly when it comes to how to organise the money borrowed.

The present financial crisis arose quite simply because with everyone borrowing more and more money as the banks wished and duly persuaded them, more and more control of everyday life went from businesses, individuals and governments into the hands of the banks. And the only thing the banks knew or cared about was making more and more money for themselves.

Then the same problem of loss of control hit the banks too. This first of all happened to Lehmann’s bank in 2008 when it suddenly discovered that it could no longer borrow money from other banks to pay for what Lehmanns owed to others.

Other banks didn’t want to lend to Lehmanns because they had observed Lehmanns becoming more and more greedy, dishonest and devious with increasing suspicions of fraud as well. Lehmanns were at the forefront of driving the concept of borrowing into an arcane stratosphere of unreality where they contrived to lend the same bit of money again, and again and again – all at the same time; Lehmanns conjured up an idea where the same money could be lent almost an unlimited amount of times all at once.

When Lehmanns discovered no one else wanted to lend them any more money, that in turn meant Lehmanns couldn’t pay money it owed to other banks. Those other banks then found they, in turn, hadn’t got enough money to pay their creditors either. And so the whole sorry merry-go-round of financial industry fictional fantasy money created out of thin air collapsed. All because everyone owed everyone else ever increasing amounts of money and no longer had any control over their own financial lives.

This whole rotten edifice has been crumbling ever since Lehmanns went bust and everyone found out mendacity, fraud and corruption were rampant in the financial industry, nowhere more so than in the banks.

Banks have effectively destroyed money by completely debasing it; turning it on it’s head and making it into debt instead of money. This has resulted in the banks controlling every aspect of all of our financial lives, taking away our own ability to manage our affairs efficiently.

This is why there is a Wordwide economic meltdown of nightmarish proportions.

Quite simply, banks have succeeded in destroying the money we all need to conduct any form of trading because they turned it all into debt instead of real money. and now everyone is finding it increasingly impossible to pay it all back as the debt just gets uncontrolably bigger and bigger.

NHS DENTISTRY IN MODERN TIMES

June 8, 2011

A DENTIST’S THOUGHTS ABOUT THE REAL REASONS FOR THE APPALLING STATE OF NHS DENTISTRY IN TODAY’S MODERN TIMES

This dentist says “I am at home early having spent the afternoon being prevented from seeing patients and having had the pleasure of being enlightened in the onerous and tedious raft of nonsense legislation being forced upon dental surgery owners as result of CQC registration  and HTM0105.(Look it up and you will find out what we have to put up with).

“This has driven many quality dentists out of NHS dentistry . The new contract has left an NHS service now propped up by poorly qualified, unethical and often exploited foreign dentists imported by corporates who have seen this contract as a guaranteed income stream.

“The price of dental practices holding an NHS contract has consequently rocketed and many UK trained dentists are now unable to procure  one or are cashing in their chips by selling up.

“What a sad waste of Tax payers money, having trained these people and then do nothing to encourage them to work within the NHS.

“The payment system for dentists is ill conceived and unworkable and even my local PCT commissioner has told us that we should ration treatment !

“None of these factors excuse dentists from misleading patients, but there is a huge difference in the cost of providing similar treatments. Not surprisingly there is also a huge difference in the quality of materials and outcomes .This is never mentioned ! It would be like buying a car and effectively being told you can have a BMW for the cost of a Trabant.

“It is about time the media gave a more balanced view, taking into account the problems and issues faced by the Dentists in service provision. Yes it is possible to provide BASIC quality ethical dentistry within the NHS  but it is getting harder.

“Yes, there is only an emphasis on Quantity.

“Yes, there is no emphasis on Quality.

“Who would really want to work with these constraints ?

“Answer ; not me . I have just sold up and after 25 years I am now planning my exit from the NHS .

Another dentist explains, “I left the NHS 30 years ago, because I can’t stand paperwork.

The regulation by boring, boneheaded, bureaucrats is counterproductive and costly to both patient and dentist.

The NHS is sponge offering work to a lot of people who are
otherwise unemployable.

In Ireland and Germany benefits have been severely reduced to cut costs; with no reduction in bureaucracy.

Meaning of course that whatever the situation the pen pushers prosper.
Many years ago I suggested to one senior bureaucrat that out of decency he ought to resign!

He became most indignant telling me I was mad.

I asked him to refute my argument that he was a quasi parasite;
reducing benefits; and thus reducing the effective purpose of the system.
He slammed the phone down and later I was asked to apologise.

I refused!

They have a propensity to waste professionals time with specious
letters of enquiry.

When you have a set of ill educated meddling fools hamstringing
one’s honest effort; it’s time to get out.

That’s why NHS dentistry is almost finished.
The professionals at the coal face have had a bellyfull.

Boz says, “my ignorance of dentistry is frustrating, and as I learn more about dental technicalities I am understanding more about how the  bad dentists use their patients’ ignorance to manipulate & miss-lead them in pursuit of profit at the expense of ethically proper medical treatment.

“This makes me increasingly angry”.

At first glance this anger is directed at the immediate cause of this bad, damaging, dental treatment – the NHS dentists. I could quote some personal experiences which are truly shocking.

But, on careful reflection, this anger has gradually been re-directed  towards the appalling corruption of the bureaucrats in the NHS who have produced a framework of insanely fantastical and expensively unworkable ‘rules’ with which they can act out their self important control freakery over other people – the dentists and their poor patients who ultimately suffer the disgustingly bad NHS dental treatment many of them receive.

In defence of dentists as a whole – both the good, bad & ugly; all people, even the very best of us, are naturally exposed to having our thought processes constantly bombarded  & shaped with persuasive pressures which cannot always be entirely resisted for one reason or another.

Therefore, when corrupting influences bombard us, many people become thoroughly corrupted and their ethics are corroded by other people with some sort of authority over them to which they are expected to be obedient to.

It takes an unusually strong character to resist the insidiously corrupting persuasions of those with authority over other people.

If people with strong characters resist the corruption of authority they are usually attacked and vilified with ever increasing violence until they toe the party line and join the rest of the herd of sheep who just do as they are told to by the bureaucrats.

This is how all evil political dictatorships inflict poverty, misery, destruction and even mass death on populations. This is the evil process which always enables self seeking people to get others to do their bidding.

It is the process by which one solitary man with psychotic delusions of grandeur persuaded thousands of previously averagely decent people to commit mass murder by exterminating millions of Jews during the second World War. “We were just doing our job as we were told to do’ they all bleated when confronted by the awfulness of the horrific mass murder they had turned into a factory production line of mass death of monumental proportions.

This same uncontrollable process of corrupt manipulation and persuasion still rages unchecked and completely out of control all around us today in every walk of life.

It is not just evident in all the ridiculous tinpot political dictators running various countries into the ground all around the World, reducing their populations to terror and grovelling servitude with aggressive threats of dire punishments if they do not comply passively and meekly to all the demands of these nasty control freak dictators, but it is also evident in every other area of our lives. It is all around us in every organisation; and the larger that organisation, the more unaccountable people in authority are likely to become.

This then allows them to force the people under their control to do their bidding for either good or ill.

Good leaders then produce good results. Bad leaders, bad results.

Pompous, self important, inadequate idiots of the type so often to be seen as politicians and public sector employees, are always going to produce the very worst kind of results which they then have the power to inflict on the rest of the population.

This is why the NHS is a shambles. This is why the idiot Sharon Shoesmith, ex-director of Children’s Services at Haringey council, can bleat about being sacked for running her organisation so badly her staff frequently did their jobs so incompetently that children died as a result.

The corruptions of the ‘thought police’ embedded into English society over the past century by the socialism movement, closely allied to communism and all it’s manifest evils is all around us, and have so thoroughly warped the minds of even judges, that a court can have the diseased mental process which allowed it recently to solemnly declare Haringey Council’s Childrens Services Director Sharon Shoesmith was wrongfully made a ‘scapegoat’ because Haringey Children’s Services failed to do the job it is there for – to protect children from abuse.

She should not have been sacked for being responsible for an incompetent children’s services department in Haringey Council, this court pompously pontificated . So incompetent and useless that several children have died, others have had lives made thoroughly miserable by Haringey’s astonishing stupidity and carelessness.

Now this unpleasant woman is apparently expecting to claim a compensation payment of about a million pounds out of our taxes in order to compensate her for her own incompetence.

What a joke. What a typical bureaucrat. Indignant about being expected to be accountable for her actions.

But why do all of us let these nasty bureaucrats get away with so much ? Ultimately it is our fault for just being sheep and doing nothing meaningful about it. How silly is that ?

That is why you dentists as well your cousins the doctors, should ALL, collectively do something positive & meaningful about not allowing the NHS bureaucracy to so completely poison the NHS medical care that the nation deserves and expects.

You could have done something about it long ago, before it became so bad. Instead you allowed it to gradually worsen little bit by little bit by not standing up to the bureaucrats right from the beginning.

HOW BANK BOSSES SWINDLED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AND GOT AWAY WITH IT

May 10, 2011

9 May, 2011 – 21:13 Economics

Author: Rhodri Evans

The big banks have (9 May) just admitted defeat in a long-running battle over “payment protection insurance”.

In effect, they have conceded that they swindled people to the extent of at least £8 billion (the sum they have so far put aside to cover compensation), in around 16 million separate cases.

The banks would rather not have conceded. But, as the Financial Times reports, £8 billion is “small in the scheme of bank profits”. And the bank bosses responsible for the swindle go forward unscathed.

People taking out loans, credit cards, or mortgages with banks were tricked into buying “payment protection insurance” (PPI). They paid extra on the loan repayment, and in return, supposedly, got insurance which would keep up their repayments if they fell ill or lost their jobs.

PPI schemes were sold to people who, because they were self-employed or already had medical problems, could never have claimed the insurance payments. 24 of the 41 companies investigated by the magazine “Which?” included the insurance automatically when customers applied for personal loans, so that people were sold it without knowing they were buying it.

And even when the PPI buyers could claim, and knew they were buying PPI, they were sold extremely bad deals. They could have bought insurance much cheaper elsewhere.

It’s another “one law for the rich, another for the poor” story. The unemployed person who claims a little more than the rules allow gets full-scale reprisals.
The bank bosses swindle away, take it for granted that some swindles will get caught out and cost them compensation, and merrily continue.
